Dyson Unveiled: The Main Launches from Berlin

Last week in Berlin, James Dyson took the stage to unveil 11 new and re-engineered products, showcasing the company's commitment to solving problems through design and state-of-the-art research. The product launches spanned several categories, from home cleaning and air purification to personal care.

Dyson’s latest cleaning innovations stole the show with several new vacuum cleaners and a new robot vacuum.

The Dyson PencilVac™: A New Format for Cleaning

The standout launch was the Dyson PencilVac™, touted as the world's slimmest vacuum cleaner. With a diameter of just 38mm, it’s designed to effortlessly glide and float across floors and clean in all directions, including under low furniture. This ultra-thin design is made possible by the new, compact Hyperdymium™ 140k motor, which is about the same size in diameter as a 2 Euro coin. The vacuum also features a new linear dust separation system that compresses debris, allowing the bin to hold five times more dirt than its 0.08L capacity. Emptying is made hygienic with a syringe bin ejection system.

Upgraded and New Cordless Vacuums

Dyson also revealed the Dyson V8 Cyclone, the next generation of its V8 vacuum. This upgraded model offers 30% more suction power and a 50% longer run time, providing up to 60 minutes of powerful, fade-free cleaning. It also features a new triggerless power button.

For a heavier duty clean, the new Dyson V16 Piston Animal was introduced, built for the highest cleaning performance across the whole home. It’s powered by a Hyperdymium™ 900W ultra high-speed motor that delivers 315 air watts of fade-free suction. The vacuum’s patented anti-tangle conical brush bars are engineered to eject even the longest hair straight into the bin. The V16 Piston Animal also includes an upgraded Submarine 2.0 wet roller head, making it a complete cleaning and floor washing solution.

Smart and Hygienic Floor Cleaning

The new Dyson Clean+Wash Hygiene is a lightweight wet and dry cleaner designed without the unhygienic filters found in traditional wet cleaners. It keeps all dirt and dirty water contained within the cleaner head, ensuring only clean water touches your floors.

Dyson’s robotic cleaning technology has also taken a significant leap with the new Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai robot. This robot is engineered for both wet and dry floor cleaning and is equipped with AI stain detection and adaptive cleaning behavior. Using an AI-powered camera, it can recognise nearly 200 types of objects and intelligently clean around them.

Air Purification and Personal Care Innovations

Dyson also launched several new products outside of the home cleaning space.

New Air Purifiers

The Dyson HushJet™ Purifier Compact is a brand-new, small-format purifier designed to deliver whole-room purification at a very low noise level. Thanks to its new Hush Jet™ Nozzle, it operates at just 44 dB at full flow, dropping to 24 dB in sleep mode.

Advancements in Hair Care

The new Dyson Supersonic r™ hair dryer is lighter, smaller, and more powerful than its predecessors. It features a laminar flow heater and the Hyperdymium™ motor.

The Dyson Airwrap Co-anda 2x™ multi-styler and hair dryer is powered by Dyson's new, fastest, and most powerful hair care motor, the Hyperdymium™ 2 motor. The new motor delivers twice the air pressure to wrap hair more easily and dries hair as fast as a full-performance hair dryer.

Dyson also introduced a new category for the brand with the Dyson Omega™ Nourishing Range, a hair care line that uses natural ingredients. The range features a unique blend of seven omega-rich oils, including sunflower oil harvested from Dyson's own farms in Lincolnshire, UK.
